Terms of service

Last updated

MoverVerify is an independent private service. It is not FMCSA, the U.S. Department of Transportation, or any government agency, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Nothing on this site is an official government publication, and no part of it should be read as carrying government authority.

These terms govern your use of moververify.com ("MoverVerify", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

1. What this site is

MoverVerify is an independent directory that republishes public records about interstate household goods carriers, sourced from systems operated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. It is an informational and navigational tool. It is not a broker, not a mover, not an insurer, and not a party to any transaction between you and any moving company.

2. Accuracy of the information

We take care to represent federal records faithfully, but you should understand exactly what that does and does not guarantee:

Verify directly with FMCSA before making any decision. Every company page links to the SAFER Company Snapshot, the Licensing & Insurance system, and the National Consumer Complaint Database for exactly this purpose.

3. No warranty

The site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, or currency of information. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

4. No endorsement, no advice

Nothing on this site is a recommendation to hire or avoid any company, and nothing here is legal, financial, or professional advice. A verification label describes a carrier’s regulatory standing on the dates shown — no more than that. Your choice of mover, and the consequences of it, are yours.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. The verification badge

Carriers whose federal records show active, unflagged household goods authority may display our badge on their own site, free of charge, linking back to their MoverVerify profile. The badge reflects a snapshot of the federal record and does not certify anything. We may revoke permission to use it at any time, and it must be removed if a carrier’s status changes or on our request. See the badge page.

7. Intellectual property

The underlying carrier data is public domain, published by the U.S. federal government, and we claim no ownership of it. The design, code, written explanations, and the arrangement and presentation of the data on this site are ours and are protected by copyright. The MoverVerify name and logo are ours.

8. Third-party links and affiliate relationships

The site links to federal systems and to third-party commercial services. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Some outbound links are affiliate links that earn us a commission — disclosed in full on our About page and labelled at the point of use. No affiliate relationship affects any carrier’s verification status, ordering, or inclusion.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MoverVerify and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of property, profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the site or your reliance on any information on it — including any dealings with, or damages caused by, any moving company listed here. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MoverVerify and its operator from any claim or demand arising out of your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.

13. Contact

[email protected] for general questions; [email protected] to dispute or correct a carrier record.

See also our Privacy Policy and Methodology, which forms part of these terms to the extent it describes how data is sourced and refreshed.
